Richard Vincent, of Mount Vernon, has been arraigned on charges that include second-degree murder and first-degree manslaughter for his role in Mount Vernon resident Randy Street’s death, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr. announced.
On March 13, Street, 39, was found by a friend dead in a pool of blood in his basement apartment on South Sixth Avenue in Mount Vernon. An autopsy later confirmed that Street died from an incised knife wound to his neck.
Scarpino said that the indictment alleges that Street was killed between March 12 and March 13.
The investigation into the murder determined that Vincent and Street had previously been acquainted, and Vincent had visited with Street the day before he was found dead.
“The Mount Vernon Police Department will not tolerate any acts of violence and disregard for the law in our city,” Mount Vernon Police Chief Richton Ziadie said. "The men and women of the Mount Vernon Police Department will work vigorously and diligently to bring to justice anyone committing these types of crimes.”
